So we start our series on the resurrection tonight.  I can say this for sure–I have not found a more exciting topic to teach or preach on EVER!!!  Much of that is because I feel like there is a big spiritual void in my life when it comes to the resurrection.  It just wasn’t emphasized like the death of Jesus was.  How about you?

Tonight, my focus is on this one idea: The resurrection only comes through death.
Ironically, many of the “preachers” I see on TV only emphasize the resurrection and it comes across in what we sometimes call the “health and wealth” gospel.

Somehow we have to keep the death and resurrection together, because only together does the story make sense–only together is the story complete.  And only through death can we truly experience the new life of resurrection!

The death and resurrection of Jesus was meant to be your story as well.  I hope you find yourself in the story tonight!
