It was great seeing Austin, Courtney, Elizabeth, Rebecca and Melissa on campus at noon.  It’s great to see all that activity around the Union–so much life, excitement, energy on the first day.  Oh if God could harness all that for his mission!  Of course, he can but we have to be willing!

As I watched students it hit me that I don’t remember really anything about my first day of school as a freshman at Arkansas.  Hmmmm…such an important day in my life but I can’t remember anything about it.  I guess there wasn’t that much memorable about it!  I encouraged one of our students yesterday to journal about this major change in her life.  Do you journal? Most people don’t seem to journal but I highly recommend it even though I don’t do it as much as I would like.  Normally there is one thought or action every day that I wish I would write down. What a blessing to look back on and see something important in your day, every day for the rest of your life.  It would probably be a best selling devotional book!  Hey…maybe I should get started on that!  Race ya!
