Prayer meeting…wow!

So last night I confess I came with fairly low expectations of our prayer meeting. Shame on me! What an amazing hour together. First of all, Nick asked us to share anything we’ve seen God doing in our lives lately and several of us spoke up. I had to share about a student who came to me recently struggling to find peace. And yesterday, Tracey and I had lunch with this student and made an amazing connection because of some common struggles in both our lives. And last night, I found out great news about a family that has been searching for a job for months now. We had a special time of prayer and fasting recently for them and now the husband has 4 or 5 interviews lined up. Thank you God for hearing our prayers!
Then after we shared these things, Nick got us to pick up a Bible and just read the psalms for several minutes and write a verse or phrase that stood out to us on the prayer wall. Everybody read in silence and we each took turns writing on the wall as we each found something we wanted to share. I remember “stumbling” onto Psalm 94 and reading about the God who avenges evil and longing for God to do that in my life, for my family and for all of us at Ole Miss!
Finally, I was blown away by several precious minutes in which God transformed us through some of the words we shared with each other. I don’t want to describe it too much because I want you to come and experience it for yourself. So come join us next week and see what God’s up to!
